Teegen´s Gasthof
gut essen   komfortabel wohnen    stilvoll feiern
The hotel and restaurant Teegen goes back to a restaurant with guest rooms and attached agriculture. As far as it´s known, it was a distillery and brewery. The first known "Krughäuerbrief" is dated 1 May 1743. This is the beginning of an era of an uninterrupted existing dispensing license. The old house fell victim to a fire in 1908 and in the same place was then the current main building build, in which our wonderful tiled stove is placed. In 1912, the success story of the restaurant Teegen began, when great-great-grandfather  Teegen acquired the recently-built inn for his son Adolf. In the first years, however, the main job was still agriculture. The restaurant was limited to the room, where still today the bar counter (but a new one) stands. Larger celebrations or the popular dance evenings were already celebrated in the hall. But in order to use it, first there needed to be difficulted layed a parquet. After 40 years, in 1952, he handed over the business to his son Ernst. Under his direction, the gastronomy was significantly expanded. The hall was extended in the still existing way and on the other side of the building, the "new large club room" was added and the porch built. In the fifties and sixties the guests from Hamburg started with their popular weekend excursions. On Saturdays and Sundays, the number of guests in the restaurants along the "Chaussee" increased, so Ernst-Udo and Anke Teegen, who took over the business in 1974, began with the further expansion of the inn. Comfortable hotel rooms were added, the restaurant business was expanded and a swimming pool was added. Agriculture was reduced and the cows were abolished. Only pig farming and potato cultivation continued until the year 2000. Since 2007, Kirsten Teegen has been managing the hotel and restaurant with her husband Michael. In 2012, Teegen's Gasthof celebrated its 100th anniversary with 300 invited guests. In 2017, the swimming pool had to give way for the hotel to grow. Now there are two ground-floored, barrier-free comfort rooms.
